Google optimizes search results for iPhone and G1

Saturday, December 20, 2008

Google made optimizations on its search engine results for Android and iPhone. The result pages fit perfectly to the screens of all Android-based and Apple devices and load much faster. Currently the changes are available only in English.

There is no longer need of zooming or scrolling side-to-side, because the pages fit to the specific phones' screens. Also touch-friendly buttons and an option for expandable maps are available for users convenience.

iPhone devices need firmware 2.x to take advantage of the new Google functions. Anyway if you want to use the old-fashion view, there's always the "Classic" link at the bottom of every page
