Free call feature in Facebook messenger for iPhone

Sunday, January 20, 2013

Facebook has added a feature in its mobile phone app that allows free calling for US iPhone users, this feature works only with iOS users that have the messenger app, and the call is made over the Wifi or mobile-data connection, The calls can only be made to another user who has Messenger installed on their iPhone. Users can neither call a Facebook friend who is logged in through the website nor call a landline.

This feature has been tested for the last month in Canada, and after it was successful they rolled it out in the US, and they said they are working on adding the feature to its Messenger app for Android and BlackBerry users.

But there is no plan yet for rolling this feature for the users worldwide.
