Phones can’t swim.. No problem!

Sunday, May 10, 2009
What do you do if your phone drops in water? Do not panic! And, do not attempt to turn it on as turning it on will almost certainly short circuit everything inside.

Instead, immediately open the battery door and take out the battery (sorry iPhone: you have no battery door!) and place the phone and the battery in a warm, dry place, preferably under the sun, for 48 hours. Then, reinsert the battery, close the door, and turn it on.

9 out of 10 times, the phone will be working just fine.
