Nokia C1 is the first Android phone from Nokia after Microsoft deal

Thursday, December 25, 2014

Last month, Nokia (the part that’s left behind post-Microsoft buyout) surprised us with a new Android tablet. Now, it looks like the Finnish company could be gearing up to release an Android-powered smartphone as well.

The device will apparently come equipped with a 5-inch display, an Intel chip, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It’s expected to run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with Nokia’s Z Launcher pre-installed on top.

To be honest, we’re not really sure what to make of this new Nokia rumor. The company’s deal with Microsoft was supposed to block it from releasing any new smartphones in the near future, though it’s possible Nokia found a loophole. If the C1 is real we’ll probably get an official look early next year, though for now we wouldn’t expect much from today’s leak.
