Drawing of the Sony Ericsson’s bracelet cell phone has appeared

Tuesday, June 23, 2009
A paper outlining prototype called “Mobile Terminal” reveals the Sony Ericsson idea to come up with a cell phone in a bracelet form factor. Actually... why not?

Cell phone watches are a fact of life already, but the bracelet differs from them in that it allows use of both hands if something needs to be typed away like really fast. In this case its screen can be turned sideways and operated via keys located on the bracelet body. Only buttons are being mentioned at this time, which tips us off that the device won’t come equipped with touch sensitive screen.

The rumor is that Sony Ericsson is planning to roll out an entire line of devices, called "Essence", with all phones in it coming in weird shapes and forms - like this bracelet. The whole thing reminds of the once famous Siemens Xelibri lineup that rolled out at the beginning of 2003.

Sony Ericsson’s bracelet device has already been patented, but we don’t know if we will see it on the market soon. So, for those who liked this bracelet, don’t wait, it’s still early
