10.1-inch LG G Pad II to be unveiled at IFA next month

Tuesday, August 25, 2015

After announcing the 8-inch model in the
G Pad II series in its home market, LG has mentioned that it will launch the 10.1-inch variant next month at the IFA conference in Berlin. Following its official debut, the tablet will be available in Wi-Fi and LTE-enabled variants in Asia, North America and Europe.

Unlike the 8-inch G Pad II, which features a resolution of 1280 x 800 and a Snapdragon 400 SoC, the 10.1-inch model will offer a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display and Snapdragon 800. Other specs include 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, microSD slot, 5MP camera at the back, 2MP front shooter, Wi-Fi ac, LTE Category 4 connectivity and a 7,400mAh battery. The 10.1-inch G Pad II will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box, and will be available in a Brilliant Bronze color option.

"The LG G Pad II 10.1 was developed in response to consumers' feedback and optimized for multimedia consumption." said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company. "Customers asked for a large display, bigger battery and faster performance all without raising the price. The G Pad II delivers on all counts."

Details of price and availability will be announced locally at the time of launch. Visitors to IFA 2015 can see the LG G Pad II 10.1 for themselves in Hall 18 of Messe Berlin from September 4-9.
