Lenovo Yoga Tablet 3 Pro is official: Pico projector and a monstrous 10,200mAh battery on board

Friday, September 4, 2015

Joining the Lenovo YOGA Tab 3 8" and YOGA Tab 3 10", the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro also got introduced at IFA yesterday. Similarly to the other two tablets, it's also exemplar of Lenovo's exterior design language, which brings forth a multifunctional bottom-positioned handle-like kickstand. Employing
"real metal, aluminum and leather" in its build, the brand new Yoga Tab 3 Pro comes with a built-in, rotating Pico projector that has digital focus and gesture control features. Unlike last year's top-end version of Lenovo's Yoga tablet crop, the projector of the Yoga Tab 3 Pro is situated on the kickstand itself and not in the hinge at the side.

Speaking of the transforming kickstand-hinge, it still allows you to hang the device on a nail, make it stand upright, or lay slightly elevated on flat surface. Additionally, the device is IP21 certified, meaning that it will is protected from accidental liquid splashes, yet submersing it underwater is a no-no. With 4 front-facing speakers and support for Dolby Atmos 3D Surround Sound, the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro 10" might be a well-endowed multimedia perfomer.

Other highlights of the tablet include a 10.1" IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a 299ppi pixel density. The slate draws power from a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom X5-Z8500 chipset. Additionally, there's a 13MP camera at the rear, while a 5MP one will take care of your selfies. In the meantime, there's a sizeable 10,200mAh battery on board to keep the lights on, allegedly for up to 18 hours of usage. Android 5.1 will be on board, supposedly with Lenovo's Vibe UI atop.

The Wi-Fi only version of the Yoga Tab 3 Pro 10" will cost you $499, while the LTE-enabled one will start from $599. As far availability is concerned, Lenovo is yet to reveal this piece of information.
