ZTE is apparently planning on building a tablet
using the manufacturer's top-shelf Axon branding. A slate with the model number
A2016 recently made a trip through the GFXBench benchmark test. The A2015 is a
special variant of the ZTE Axon made for the Chinese market, so we can assume
that the benchmarked device will be part of the Axon line.
GFXBench benchmark test has revealed some of the specs for the slate. For
example, the ZTE Axon tablet is expected to feature a 13.7-inch screen, with a
resolution of 1080 x 1920. That works out to a pixel density of 160ppi.
Qualcomm's current high-end chipset, the Snapdragon 810, is under the hood,
carrying a slightly under-clocked octa-core 1.9GHz CPU. The Adreno 430 GPU
RAM is inside, along with 32GB of internal storage. Those requiring additional
memory can access the 128GB capacity microSD slot that is on board. A 7MP
snapper adorns the back of the slate, with a 2MP camera found in front for
taking selfies. Android 5.0.2 is pre-installed. The tablet supports 4G LTE, and
is NFC enabled.
yet on pricing or availability. Hopefully it won't be terribly long before ZTE
makes this slate official.
