Oppo R7s goes official with 4GB of RAM and 5.5'' AMOLED display

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

The Oppo R7s phablet has just been unveiled in Dubai, and the device will be launched next month in 10 regions and countries including Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Australia, and Indonesia. Some countries in the Middle East and North Africa region will also be getting the phone next month. In December, U.S. and European consumers will be able to purchase the model from the OppoStyle website.

The Oppo R7s features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display using 2.5D glass. The Snapdragon 615 SoC under the hood brings an octa-core CPU, and the Adreno 405 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside, along with 32GB of internal storage. A 128GB capacity microSD slot in on board for those seeking additional memory.

The 13MP rear-facing camera comes with Phase Detection Auto Focus, which takes all of .1 second to focus. There is an 8MP front-facing camera to shoot selfies and handle video chats. The camera app now opens 30% faster when compared to earlier models. A 3070mAh battery keeps the phone running for 13 hours and 15 minutes continuously, according to Oppo. And the VOOC rapid charger will give the handset enough juice to talk for 2 hours after being plugged in for just 5 minutes. You can charge your battery all the way to 90% after just a 50 minute workout with an electrical outlet. Android 5.1 is pre-installed with ColorOS 2.1 running on top.

There is no word yet on pricing for this enticing new Oppo phablet. We expect that figure to be released as the phone is launched in each market.
