Microsoft Tag, the mobile application that uses Microsoft’s own barcode technology (called High Capacity Color Barcode, or HCCB) is now out of beta, being available for free for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows Mobile and Palm OS.
Microsoft Tag helps users instantly link to a mobile website or video, add someone to their address book, and even create their own Tags with the Tag Manager.
Microsoft says that, since the beta version of Tag was launched (18 month ago), “more than one billion Tags have been printed by people and businesses all over the world” – so the technology is becoming quite popular (mainly thanks to the fact that Tags can be read faster than older barcodes, and they can be made in smaller sizes).
you can download Microsoft Tag via the Microsoft Tag official website, or get it directly to your phone by visiting http://gettag.mobi in your browser.
