Apple Maps Crisis

Saturday, September 22, 2012

After almost 10 days from new iPhone 5 announcement, the new device has reached the hands of people, in addition of the world wide iOS 6 update to old Apple devices, and the big news was its new Apple maps, which according to users it is a disaster. Apple has bought in this past couple of years several mapping solution companies, in one goal in mind and that is “ditching Google maps” in its new iOS, but after the dream has come true the new Apple maps app is containing several glitches like misplaced land mark, wrong or even missing names, Apple spokeswoman Trudy Muller has said in a statement:

"We launched this new map service knowing that it is a major initiative and we are just getting started with it. We are continuously improving it, and as Maps is a cloud-based solution, the more people use it, the better it will get,”

There is some rumor of Google Map App for the new iOS waiting for approval from Apple's app review team to be available throw the App Store.

Criticism has arisen against Apple for this move, especially considering Google’s long experience in the Maps solution which is now almost 10 years, on the other hand Apple has been known for its successful new launch crisis-management, where we all remember the antenna problem in its last device, so let’s wait for Apple’s solution for this problem and then make a decision whether it is good or not.
