Huawei G9 Lite and MediaPad M2 7.0 go official in China

Huawei has unveiled its G9 Lite smartphone in China alongside the MediaPad M2 7.0 tablet.

The G9 Lite is the China-variant of the Huwaei P9 Lite that was launched two weeks ago, and will be available in China only. The Huawei MediaPad M2 7.0, on the other hand, is the company's first tablet featuring a fingerprint scanner

The G9 Lite features:

·         5.2-inch full-HD display resolution (1920x1080).

·         Octa-core Kirin 650 processor clocked at 2GHz.

·         3GB of RAM.

·         16GB of storage which can be expanded via microSD card.

·         Fingerprint scanner on the back panel.

·         13-megapixel rear camera.

·         8-megapixel front facing camera.

·         3000mAh non-removable battery.


Coming to the tablet, the MediaPad M2 7.0 features:

·         7-inch full-HD display resolution (1920x1080).

·         Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor.

·         3GB of RAM.

·         16GB/32GB of internal storage.

·         13-megapixel rear camera.

·         5-megapixel front facing camera.

·         Fingerprint sensor.

·         4360mAh battery.

The Huawei G9 Lite will cost $260 (CNY 1699) and will be available in white, gold and black. The MediaPad M2 7.0 is $245 (CNY 1599) for the 16GB variant and $276 (CNY 1799) for the 32GB model. Sales start on May 13, but pre-orders are now open.
