Intel launches 4th generation Core processors with all-day battery life

Saturday, January 12, 2013

Intel launched its latest Intel Core processor today at CES 2013. Formerly known as Haswell when Intel unveiled for the first time back at IDF in September 2011.

The latest Intel chip promises all-day battery life to the latest ultrabooks. Intel says this will be equal to around 9 hours of continuous battery life on new systems. Intel showed a new ultrabook detachable reference design that converts into a 10mm tablet which will run up to 13 hours while docked.

Intel says ultrabooks will require touch input for fourth-generation Core PCs.

Intel didn't provide exact timings on when PCs will arrive with its latest processors, but expect to see them within new Windows 8-powered devices throughout 2013.
