Huawei announced a Porsche Design version of the Huawei Mate 9

Saturday, November 5, 2016

Along with the "regular" Mate 9, Huawei announced a Porsche Design version of the Mate 9 in Germany with a design crafted by the popular Porsche Design studio. The fashion-focused subsidiary of the legendary car maker is not new to phones, but this is its first partnership with Huawei.

For design, the Porsche Design version comes with metal body with dual curved flexible AMOLED display on the front. To make things symmetrical, the back is also curved. There is also the Porsche Design logo at the back and that’s probably why the company decided to move the fingerprint sensor to the front.

For specifications, there are some differences between the regular Mate 9 edition and the Porsche design edition, the Porsche design versions comes with:

·         5.5-inches as compared to the 5.9-inches on the Mate 9 regular edition

·         6GB of RAM as compared to 4GB of RAM on the Mate 9 regular edition

·         256GB of inbuilt storage as compared to 64GB on the Mate 9 regular edition

·         Color options: Graphite Black only

Other specs remain the same, include:

·         Kirin 960 chipset

·         Leica dual rear cameras(20MP+12MP) with dual LED Flash

·         8MP front facing camera

·         4000mAh battery

The Porsche design version will be available in the European Porsche Design Stores starting in late December. It will also be available in January 2017 at Porsche Design Stores worldwide (except USA), and select Huawei retail stores in Asia, Middle East, and Europe. It will cost you about €1,395.
